The fine print
Privacy Policy
Last updated 6 July 2026
The GOAT Machine is an independent fan project. It has no accounts and no login, and we don't ask you for your name, email, or any personal details. We do use privacy-friendly analytics to understand how the site is used. Here's exactly what that means.
Collection
What we collect
We use PostHog(hosted in the EU) for product analytics. It records anonymous usage: pages viewed, buttons and dials interacted with, and performance metrics (Web Vitals). This data is stored using a cookie and your browser's local storage so we can count returning visitors without knowing who you are. We do not collect names, emails, accounts, or payment information, because the site has none of those.
Purpose
Why we collect it
Only to understand what people enjoy and to fix what's broken: which sections get used, whether an interaction misbehaves, and whether pages load quickly. We do not sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Third parties
Embedded content
Video clips and music are embedded from YouTube using its privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie mode, so YouTube doesn't set tracking cookies until you press play on a clip. Some players use the YouTube IFrame Player API, part of YouTube API Services: by using those features you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and any data Google receives is handled under the Google Privacy Policy. Your choices
Cookies & your rights
When you first visit, a banner asks whether to allow analytics. Nothing loads and no analytics cookie is set unless you accept, and declining costs you no functionality. You can also clear or block cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings, or use your browser's “Do Not Track” / tracking-protection features. The site works fine either way. Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis for analytics is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by declining or clearing the cookie. Depending on where you live (for example under the EU GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access or delete data associated with you, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority; because our analytics are anonymous we usually can't tie data to an individual, but you can still reach out with any request.
Retention & changes
Retention and updates
Analytics data is retained according to PostHog's default retention periods and is used only in aggregate. This is a personal project, so this policy may change as the site does; the “last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
Operator & terms
Who runs this, and terms of use
This site is operated by Dimitris Kirtsios (dimkirt.com), the data controller for the purposes described above. It is a personal, non-commercial fan project and is not directed at children under 13.
Everything here is provided “as is” and purely for entertainment. The GOAT ratings and rankings are opinion, not fact, and the site comes with no warranty of accuracy or availability. Team names, marks, photos, and video remain the property of their respective owners; see Credits & Sources.
